
Summary
Goal of the project is developing a model of community-based sustainable tourism (CBST) in Phobjikha and improve knowledge on environmental conservation among the local community.

- Form a Steering Committee at a national level
- Conduct study tours to conceptualize Bhutanese CBST
- Identify and train village homestays, local guides and local souvenirs to generate income to local community
- Develop Phobjikha homestay operation manual
- Develop bird hides to observe black-necked cranes
- Develop a board walk on the wetland for tourists
- Conduct marketing and promotion for Phobjikha CBST
